Free Radical Enterprises’ Managing Director, Lisa Sampson,
was a social systems architect in the government and non-government
Australian disability services sector for over 15 years. Lisa
pioneered new methods in funding administration as well as
service Self-Assessment and Service User feedback systems
for state-funded services in NSW. She’s most proud of
the work she did in facilitating the movement of many hundreds
of people from boarding houses and large residential centres
to funded, community based housing and support services. One
of her biggest rewards has been meeting disability support
staff who work from the heart.
In 2000 – 2001, Lisa produced the ground-breaking photography
series ‘Intimate Encounters’ and all the associated
events, by Belinda Mason-Lovering, promoting it in Australia
and overseas. ‘Intimate Encounters’ is a series
of photographs portraying the sometimes autobiographical,
fantastic, painful, joyous and always very authentic perceptions
people with a disability have about their bodies, their sexuality
and their significant relationships. A work of immense dedication,
love and perspiration by both Belinda and Lisa, it has been
around the world and back again, recently touring through
regional Australia.
Given this history, Lisa’s credentials in building
not-for-profit brands and events have been further embellished
by undertaking many subsequent event management projects as
a consultant in her company, Free Radical Enterprises.
